While touring the Donnelley Wildlife Management Area the so called Roseate spoonbill tree in “full bloom” prompted this photograph.
As is my custom on a first scouting of a local wildlife area, I employed my enduro motorcycle which offers greater accessibility but less space for camera gear. Fortunately my sparse provisions included a lens capable of 135mm at an f/5.6 aperture to render this photograph.
The Donnelly Wildlife Management Area will definitely become another Colleton County addition to my wildlife photography.
A family of these frogs are drawn to my porch light at night to feast on the bugs the light attracts. Naturally, I began leaving the light on just for them. A sort of motel six for tree frogs. I therefore assume this smile is genuine. Nikon D850, Nikon 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro NIKKOR lens, Nikon SB-900 AF Speedlight set to TTL, 1/200 sec, f/13, iso 100.
